The trial balance and the general ledger are the two reference reports for monitoring your accounts. They are available at any time, without waiting for the year end.
The general trial balance
The trial balance lists every account used, with its debit, credit and balance totals. It gives a snapshot of your accounting situation. Open the Accounting menu, the Reports section, then Trial balance: choose the period, then view or export the document.
The general ledger
The general ledger details, account by account, each posted entry. It is used to understand the make-up of a balance or to find a specific operation.
Hint: filter the general ledger on a single account (for example a customer) to check its balance line by line.
All reports can be exported to spreadsheet or PDF to share with your accountant or chartered accountant.
